Dear Parents,
This afternoon the High School students and staff evacuated the building because of threat
written on a bathroom stall. Police were immediately called in and the situation was evaluated
for credibility. Although it was determined to likely be non-credible, student and staff safety are
always our first priority and therefore, an evacuation was called. With the assistance of the
Bedford Police, the gymnasium and surrounding spaces were searched and deemed safe
to re-enter. Students and staff reassembled in the gym. Teachers, administrators and
Police proceeded to clear common spaces and classrooms. Following the all clear, we moved
back into an abbreviated afternoon schedule. Although delayed, all students did have lunch.
All after school activities will run as scheduled.
I want to thank all of our students and staff for the tremendous cooperation and assistance
as we managed the situation. I also want to thank parents for your patience as we worked
through this unfortunate incident. Finally, the prompt assistance of the Bedford Police
department allowed us to manage this situation in a safe and purposeful manner.
Regards,
Bill
