BHS and the 2018/19 Toys For Tots campaign!
  • Please encourage your son/daughter to participate in the 2018/19 Toys for Tots campaign.  
  • To participate, donate a toy with your son/daughter’s Advisory teacher's name taped to the 
  • toy and deposit it in one of the many boxes throughout the school.
  • Toys will be collected until December 14th, after which there will be a final tally and the 
  • Advisory with the most toys collected will win a holiday breakfast.
  • We collected over 400 toys last year. Please help us break that record this year!

Lost and Found:
Parents, Students, and Staff, If you have lost something be sure to check the lost and found!
  • If you have lost clothing, coats, bags, books, etc. please look in the bins located by the 
  • concession stand in the Gym hall.
  • If you have lost smaller items such as a wallet, keys, calculator or phone stop in the main
  •  office and we will assist you.

IB Coordinator:
IB Exam Confirmation emails along with important information including Personal Codes and PINs (which are used in work submission and in retrieving exam scores) were sent on November 29 to all families and students who have registered for IB Exams. It was sent from the bhsib@bedfordnhk12.net email address. Please look for, read, and save this email.

As many BHS seniors have been completing college applications, I started thinking about IB and the college application process. I get asked often about how Universities view the IB Diploma, and students who take part in the program. Please take a look at this video series in which Assistant Dean of Admission at Stanford University, Debra Von Bargan shares her own experiences with the IB Diploma Programme.

Food and Nutrition Department:
The breakfast program will be featuring a delicious and nutritious sunshine smoothie. Loaded with fresh pineapple, banana, and carrot, this smoothie will help nourish and brighten the skin and mind with its powerful antioxidant and beta carotene content. In addition to breakfast combo meals, the kitchen will be offering a homemade festive holiday gingerbread. This lovely treat will keep you feeling satisfied with its warm spice combination and is topped with a sweet drizzle of vanilla glaze.These featured items are so tasty! Don't miss out on these healthy, wholesome new breakfast items.     
The hot lunch program has some exciting new recipes to showcase. Monday, December 10th is sandwich on a bun day.  Choose from a new black bean burger, fish filet or bbq pork sandwich topped with assorted vegetables and paired with some local roasted winter squash. On Thursday, December 13th, to go along with our warm and yummy pasta day are crispy panko crusted zucchini sticks. Lastly on Friday, December 14th a warm and hearty southwestern bean soup recipe, prepared with lots of fresh and healthy vegetables and plant based proteins.

Winter Play Auditions are December 13 & 14.

December 14th, the swim team is putting on a movie night. $3.00 in the theater, 6pm.

Alternative Programming:
MST: All Freshman and Sophomore students will be attending an informational assembly regarding programs offered at Manchester School of Technology during Advisory on December 17th. Details regarding the Career Week Field Trip to MST in January will be discussed and permission slips will be distributed. Interested students can see Ms. Woods in 229 for additional information.

RWL: Students can find RWL activities requiring volunteer sign-ups under the “Opportunities” tab when they log into their X2VOL accounts. Students may also continue to log hours on the X2VOL site.

HANNAFORD HELPS REUSEABLE BAG PROGRAM: Hannaford on Jenkins Road has chosen Bedford PTG to be the beneficiary of the Community Bag program in December. For every green Community reusable bag purchased at Hannaford, on JENKINS ROAD, in December, the PTG will receive a $1.00 donation.

COLOR BLAST FUN RUN OPPORTUNITY: It’s not too late to get involved with planning this Colorful community event. Our first planning meeting will be Tuesday, December 11th , 9:00am  at McKelvie. Please email bedfordnhptg@gmail.com for more information, or simply join us on the 11th.

STAND BY ME COMMITTEE:  PTG is proud to sponsor Stand By Me , a day-long workshop event for all 7th grade students and their parents to be held May 31st, 2019 at SNHU. The parent committee is instrumental in organizing this program. If you are interested in finding out more about Stand By Me or would like to join the committee, contact Lurgio’s Guidance Secretary, Beth Fitzgerald or simply come to the next meeting on December 13th 9:30am, at Lurgio. You do NOT need to have a 7th grader to participate on the committee or as a volunteer for the event.

There’s NO BeBOLD Speaker Series Event in December.

Our next Speaker Series Event will be Monday, January 28th from 7-8pm at the Bedford Library in the MacAllaster room.
